The Salvation Army Springfield, Missouri Corps has two new leaders at the helm, as Majors Butch and Lisa Frost take office today. The Frost’s bring with them over 20 years of experience as officers.
“We are so humbled for the opportunity to simply love and care for the people in Springfield,” said Major Butch Frost. “We look forward to engaging in the Springfield community on a number of levels.”
The Frost’s graduated from The Salvation Army College of Officers Training in 1995 and over the next 10 years served as Corps Officers in various communities throughout the Midwest. They were then assigned to the Heartland and Indiana Divisional Headquarters where they served at Youth Secretaries for a three state area.
Following this they returned to their previous position as Corps Officers in various locations, during which time Major Butch Frost received a BA in Organizational Management and Human Resources. Their final appointment prior to arriving in Springfield was at the Northern Divisional Headquarters as Divisional Secretary and Divisional Secretary for Programs.
The Frost’s take over operation of the Springfield, Missouri Corps, which serves Greene and Christian counties, following the departure of Majors Mike and Judy Mills, who led the local Corps for just over three years. The Mills have been assigned to Territorial Headquarters as the head of Pastoral Care.
The Frost’s have two children and four grandchildren. In their spare time they love the outdoors and watersports.
