The Salvation Army will serve its annual Community Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday, November 23rd. Community members are invited to attend this free lunch from noon to 1:00p.m.
“It is our hope that those with nowhere else to go on this day will gather with us to give thanks for the many blessings God has given us,” said Major Butch Frost. “This annual meal allows us to let many people in our community know that they are loved and cared for.”
The Thanksgiving lunch will be served at The Salvation Army Harbor House located at 636 North Booneville Avenue in Springfield. The Salvation Army is seeking financial donations to help pay for the meal, as well as its year round Front Line Feeding Program. Lambert’s Café is providing their famous rolls for the meal.
The annual Thanksgiving Dinner brings together residents from all walks of life for an afternoon of food and fellowship. Last year, The Salvation Army provided nearly 250 community members with a Thanksgiving meal.
