SALVATION ARMY DISTRIBUTING MORE THAN 1,000 NEW COATS TO KIDS TODAY
Children who participated in back-to-school program will receive new coats today, Saturday, October 10.
Springfield, MO (October 9, 2015) The Salvation Army will be giving out brand new winter coats to over 1,000 local children today, Saturday, October 10. Coats are being given to children who participated in The Salvation Army’s back-to-school assistance program. Coats are being distributed at The Salvation Army’s main office located at 1707 West Chestnut Expressway in Springfield.
“We are very excited to be able to add this new aspect of our back-to-school program this year,” said Major Mike Mills, Springfield Corps Officer. “The needs of children in this community don’t end just because the school year has started. Having a new winter coat is important to the health and well-being of these kids.”
Families who did not participate in the back-to-school assistance program, but are in need of coats, may call our office on Tuesday, October 13 to check on the status of additional coats to be given to the community. Supplies will be limited so families are encouraged to call prior to coming to the office.
