SALVATION ARMY SEEKING VOLUNTEERS TO HELP DISTRIBUTE COATS TO KIDS
More than 50 volunteers are needed October 10 to distribute more than 1,000 coats.
Springfield, MO (September 30, 2015)The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers on Saturday, October 10 to help distribute more than 1,000 new winter coats to local children. Coats are being given to children who participated in The Salvation Army’s back-to-school assistance program.
“We are very excited to be able to add this new aspect of our back-to-school program this year,” said Major Mike Mills, Springfield Corps Officer. “The needs of children in this community don’t end just because the school year has started. Having a new winter coat is important to the health and well-being of these kids.”
Volunteers are needed from 9:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. on Saturday, October 10. Individuals may volunteer for the entire four hour time frame or for a two hour shift from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. or 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. Around 55 volunteers are needed at any given time to ensure coats are given out in the allotted time frame.
