The Salvation Army in Springfield, MO is seeking donations to its Family Thrift Store located at 1737 S. Campbell Ave. Items specifically needed are gently used and new clothing and small household goods.
“Our Thrift Store operates solely on the donations provided by our community,” said Major Butch Frost. “The continued success of our store ensures we have an additional source of revenue that goes directly back to the programs and services we provide.”
Any income from The Salvation Army Family Store is allocated to help fund local services including shelter, feeding and children’s programs. In addition, vouchers are provided to families in need through the The Salvation Army’s Emergency Social Service Office for seasonal clothing needs.
The store is open Monday through Friday from 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. Starting in mid-December, donation pick-up for large items will once again be available.
“We are in the process of replacing our donation trucks,” Frost said. “There were several safety issues we needed to address with our previous trucks and we want to make sure our workers and donors are safe in all of our processes.”
In additional to clothing and small household items, furniture, bedding, and seasonal items can be dropped off during normal business hours.
