The Salvation Army in Springfield, MO has consolidated their Thrift Store operations to one location. The Family Store located at 2944 West Chestnut Expressway has closed effective immediately. The Salvation Army Thrift Store located at 1737 South Campbell will remain open and have new, expanded hours.
“The closure of the store on Chestnut allows us to focus on our larger location on Campbell,” said Major Butch Frost, Corps Officer. “We hope this will enable us to provide better customer service and product selection to those we serve.”
Frost indicates the closure of the store will be a cost savings to The Salvation Army and allow staff to streamline job functions. No employees will be affected by the store closure at this time. The property, which is owned by The Salvation Army, will still be utilized in various ways.
The Thrift Store located on Campbell will offer expand hours 10:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. Monday Friday and Saturday from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. Material donations are temporarily not being accepted at the Thrift Store on Campbell to allow The Salvation Army time to consolidate operations. We will notify the public when we will once again begin accepting material donations. All proceeds from store sales help fund programs offered by The Salvation Army throughout the year.
