The Salvation Army will serve its annual Community Thanksgiving Lunch on Thursday November 24th. Community members are invited to attend this free lunch from noon to 1:00p.m.
“We want to make sure everyone in our community has somewhere be have a Thanksgiving meal on Thursday,” said Major Mike Mills. “We hope this meal is something that makes those who have nowhere to go know the community cares for them.”
The Thanksgiving lunch will be served at The Salvation Army Harbor House located at 636 North Booneville Avenue in Springfield. The Salvation Army is seeking financial donations to help pay for the meal, as well as its year round Front Line Feeding Program. Lambert’s Café is providing their famous rolls for the meal.
The annual Thanksgiving Dinner brings together residents from all walks of life for an afternoon of food and fellowship. Last year, The Salvation Army provided nearly 325 community members with a Thanksgiving meal.
